What is hydro dipping?
Hydro dipping is a printing technique that transfers a design printed on a polyvinyl alcohol film or carrier floating on the surface of the water.
The transfer is applied to all kinds of objects, by hand or industrially, thanks to the water, which provides the pressure needed to gradually adhere the film to the object as it is slowly submerged, and to the activator, which dissolves the film and acts as a primer between the objects being decorated and the ink printed on the film.

What treatment do we apply to vehicle parts for hydro dipping?
The treatment consists of physical and chemical surface abrasion processes to guarantee good adhesion, such as sanding, degreasing and applying a two-component primer.
Next, the object is decorated, first by applying a base colour and then by dipping the parts to achieve the desired result.
Finally, the design must be protected against chemical attack, rubbing, etc. This is achieved by applying high-resistance automotive clear coats (gloss or matt).
Which vehicle parts can we decorate with hydro dipping?
We can apply this technique to both exterior parts (rims, diffusers, side skirts, spoilers, wings, mirrors, grilles, etc.) and interior parts (trims, centre console, seats, air vents, gear lever, steering wheel, etc.).
In general, we can dip any part smaller than 3 metres, so practically any part of a car, motorcycle or quad can be decorated using the water transfer printing technique.
